From the reviews
Just the most beautiful event space! We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at the Center for Urban Horticulture (CFUH)- after a thorough venue search we knew we wanted somewhere that was Seattle-authentic, mostly outdoors, allowed outside catering and affordable. CFUH was all of that!
A wonderful place to enjoy seeing variety of plants and flowers. Lots of parking and convenient bathrooms. There are trails nearby for walking and jogging. Excellent place (event venue).
Highly recommend the Center for Urban Horticulture if you're looking for a wedding venue in the Seattle area. We got married here in August and it was a perfect day. We were able to take advantage of the many outdoor spaces at the Center - the grove, the courtyard, and the greenhouse (Merrill Commons).
I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Center for Urban Horticulture this past spring. It is such a beautiful location for an intimate/small wedding. The arboretum is a super cool location for the ceremony and if the weather allows the Goodfellow Grove is a great location for ceremony or even a reception.
Getting married at Center for Urban Horticulture
Center for Urban Horticulture comes up for weddings, going by their listing and couples’ reviews. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the glass house at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — the light pouring through the panes at golden hour is the whole reason to book one, but a greenhouse at noon in July feels very different from one at dusk in October, so ask about temperature and shade for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring the questions that only matter for a glass venue: is it heated and air-conditioned (the single most important question), what months do they actually book, is there shade cloth or diffusing glass for midday glare, what's the humidity like in summer, are candles or open flame allowed near the plants, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Glass venues are intimate and popular dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
