From the reviews

My husband and I love the Michigan State Horticulture Gardens. We got married here because of how beautiful it is. Aside from that, we go here often during the spring and summer just to walk around and see the beautiful flowers and other landscape.

All photos are taken and distributed by Be Photographed. Bri and Zach’s wedding at the Horticultural Gardens was absolutely stunning. When I take photos here, I’m always impressed by how many beautiful outdoor ceremony options there are.

One of those magical places on Michigan State University’s campus, with an amazing range of roses and clematis, scents from every part of the world, and an awesome koi pond with lily pads and irises. This is a great place for a walk after dinner. There are plenty of benches you can sit on if you need a rest in between.

Summer? It's time to visit this place then. Flowers start blooming this week. This place is also common to be used for wedding events.

Getting married at Horticulture Gardens

Horticulture Gardens comes up for weddings, going by their listing and couples’ reviews. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the glass house at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — the light pouring through the panes at golden hour is the whole reason to book one, but a greenhouse at noon in July feels very different from one at dusk in October, so ask about temperature and shade for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring the questions that only matter for a glass venue: is it heated and air-conditioned (the single most important question), what months do they actually book, is there shade cloth or diffusing glass for midday glare, what's the humidity like in summer, are candles or open flame allowed near the plants, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Glass venues are intimate and popular dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
