The Wedding-Weekend Map (2026)

Where can the wedding become the whole weekend? We mined the websites and couples' reviews of 548 US greenhouse wedding venues for hard lodging evidence — a guesthouse that sleeps the wedding party, cabins on the property, a bridal suite — and found at least 19 venues with confirmed on-site lodging, 3.5% of the directory. Rolled up by state, a clear map appears. Updated 2026-11-08.

Wedding-weekend states, per resident

The headline: Maine is the wedding-weekend capital of America per resident, with 1 venues confirmed to sleep guests on the property — 0.7 per million people. By raw count the leaders are Indiana (3), Pennsylvania (2), Illinois (2). Deepest bench relative to its venue count: Pennsylvania, where 7.7% of all greenhouse venues show lodging evidence.

#StateVenues with confirmed lodgingShare of state's venuesPer million residents
1 Maine 1 33.3% 0.7
2 New Hampshire 1 50% 0.7
3 Indiana 3 20% 0.4
4 Pennsylvania 2 7.7% 0.2
5 Illinois 2 6.7% 0.2
6 Ohio 2 9.1% 0.2
7 Louisiana 1 16.7% 0.2
8 Texas 2 5.4% 0.1
9 Georgia 1 6.2% 0.1
10 Virginia 1 5.9% 0.1
11 Michigan 1 4.3% 0.1
12 California 1 2.3% 0
13 Florida 1 3.6% 0

Counts are floors, not ceilings: a venue only lands in the lodging column when its own website or its couples' reviews prove it. The real number is higher — the evidence just hasn't surfaced yet for every venue.

Methodology: a venue counts as having confirmed on-site lodging when its website or couples' reviews contain concrete evidence — a guesthouse, cabins, cottages, or guest rooms on the property (mined and re-verified with each crawl of our 548-venue national directory). Because the flag requires proof, every number on this page is a floor ("at least N"). Population = US Census 2024 state estimates; per-million = confirmed venues ÷ state population × 1,000,000. Share = confirmed venues ÷ all directory venues in that state. More data: the state-by-state stats hub and America's greenhouse wedding capitals.
